Mayo Pink Ribbon is a fundraising group passionate about the importance of breast cancer research. It's primary fundraising event over the past 11 years has been The Mayo Pink Ribbon Charity Cycle which has taken place on the Saturday of the May Bank Holiday weekend. Since it’s inaugural event in 2010 more than 2,000 cyclists have taken part and to date over €1.14 million has been raised for breast cancer research at The National Breast Cancer Research Institute in Galway www.breastcancerresearch.ie
The emphasis is always on participation, fun, being challenged, whole community involvement, support for each other and above all passion to bring about change. It’s an event like no other and has been daubed the friendliest cycle in Ireland (a claim we’ll happily accept!)
The fundraising that Mayo Pink Ribbon does is so vital to bringing about real change in breast cancer research so we are disappointed not to be able to run our physical cycle this year, we are delighted to be able to bring this exciting virtual alternative. We hope that old friends, and new, from all over the world can join us to help make this a great event.
