The challenge:
To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are 'walking in the shoes of our customers. Over a gruelling 60 days, each OLM team will run/walk or crawl 1136.8 miles across the UK (Virtually).
There are 13 OLM teams doing the challenge, so collectively, we will be doing over 14,500 miles.
The impact:
Unfortunately, the coronavirus crisis means there are now further financial pressures on thousands of families across the country who were already struggling to get by. The struggle has quickly turned into real hardship for many.
We will be stopping at 10 OLM customers on the route, and at each of these 10 customer stops, we will be donating £200 to a local food bank.
At OLM, we care about solving today's problems, but also investing to solve their causes; therefore, we will be fundraising for Child Poverty Action Group with the sponsorship for our challenge.
4.3 million children in the UK (more than 1 in 4) are growing up in poverty. We should not accept this; we need to challenge this and create change!
We would love to raise as much money as possible for this deserving charity. Thank you in advance for your kind donations
Child Poverty Action Group
CPAG works on behalf of these children and families, researching what causes poverty and the impact it has on children's lives to campaign for policies that will prevent and solve poverty. They provide advice, training and information to make sure hard-up families get the financial support they need, and carry out high profile legal work to protect families' rights.
CPAG is now working hard to support families facing financial hardship during the pandemic - to prevent or minimise more children ending up in poverty.
We are proud to be fundraising for CPAG's crucial work during this challenging time for families across the country. We would love your support for this worthy cause.
How your donation can make a difference:
£47 could fund CPAG's advice service for one hour, meaning our advisers can ensure financial assistance reaches people
who have fallen on hard times during the pandemic.
£260 could fund one of our legal team to represent vulnerable people in the courts. We have already responded to a range of legal queries about those affected by coronavirus and have future litigation planned.
£1,000 could help fund CPAG's experts support frontline workers with up-to-date information to ensure families get the right support to which they are entitled as a result of coronavirus.
