Hospice Waikato has a special way of caring for people who have an advance, progressive, life limiting and terminal illnesses. Our focus is on improving a patients quality of life so they can make the most of the time they have left with their families and friends. Hospice Waikato care is a free service that provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for families during their journey. We are committed to delivering the latest and most innovative approaches in pain and symptom management.

Hospice Waikato is also home to New Zealand’s only specialist children’s and young person’s Hospice service – Rainbow Place

Today, the demand for Hospice Waikato services across the region continues to increase, putting additional demand on the services and funding. Hospice is not fully funded and every year we need to raise over $5million from our community to keep our service free of charge. In the past year, Hospice Waikato has had over 1,600 patients referred, including 46children.
