The Burnt Chef Project - Get Active Lockdown 3.0
With 80% of hospitality professionals saying anonymously that they have experienced a mental health issues whilst working in the trade it is part of our ongoing mission to create a healthier industry for everyone.
Crisis Support
As a result we want to take things a step further than raising awareness by launching a FREE 24/7 text based service specifically for those who may feel anxious, stressed, depressed, suicidal or overwhelmed and who need immediate support.
The benefits of this service will also allow us to track anonymous data of those who need to use a service such as this and provide real data on hospitalities mental health and ultimately SAVE LIVES.
Burnt Chef Training App
In addition we will be shortly launching a training app with pre-loaded training modules so that individuals and businesses can upskill on mental health awareness, resillience and management skills to better navigate the subject of mental health.
Why launch a virtual race mission?
Hospitality is experiencing unprecedented trouble due to COVID causing a rise in mental health issues. To further compound issues the days are short and the weather is cold.
In order for us to provide access to a dedicated crisis service as well as the training app we need to outlay close to £10k.
As a result we wanted to do something to not only raise funds but as a community get up, get moving and help keep mental health issues at bay.
We have designed a special tour around some of the UK and Ireland's best known Michelin restaurants specifically for hospitality staff to encourage us to get moving during this lockdown. Starting in Skye and travelling down the country to Padstow this is a team target that only when we band together as a hospitality family we can complete.
Sending our heartfelt thanks to all those that want to get involved in helping us raise this money and encouraging others to get moving.
